Visually Impaired Sign – Please Be Careful

A clear and practical way to let people know that someone using a pushchair, buggy or mobility aid has a visual impairment.

This handmade embroidered “VISUALLY IMPAIRED – PLEASE BE CAREFUL” sign is designed for both children and adults with visual impairments. It can be particularly useful for a visually impaired child who uses a pushchair or buggy for mobility, safety or support, or for an adult or elderly person using a mobility walker or rollator.

A clear sign can help other people understand that the person using the pushchair or mobility aid may need a little extra care and consideration, without having to explain the situation every time.

Handmade and personalised

Each sign is handmade to order by me at Mammy Made Me and embroidered onto durable felt. The sign measures just over 5 inches square and features the recognised visual impairment symbol, with “VISUALLY IMPAIRED” embroidered above and “PLEASE BE CAREFUL” below.

You can choose your preferred felt colour and embroidery colour from the options available. I have a wide range of felt and thread colours, so if you don't see the colour combination you'd like, please get in touch as I may well have exactly what you're looking for.

The sign is supplied with a clear plastic hanging hook, making it easy to attach to a suitable part of a pushchair, buggy or other handle.

If you're ordering the sign for a mobility walker or rollator, you can instead choose the two-ribbon-loop attachment option. I will add two ribbon loops to the top of the sign and supply extra ribbon so you can securely tie the sign to the walker.

How it is made

I embroider the wording and visual impairment symbol onto felt using machine embroidery, then carefully finish the sign by hand and add your chosen attachment ready for you to use.
